Title: Heaven’s Shelf (Good Night)
By: Eleanore Mart

Nothing seems real…
…..no, not to her.

She refuses to see what is really there
Even after all the pain she’s endured
Although, situations have become quite fair,
It is a moment she cannot ignore.

She views multiple realities throw her wounded eyes,
Always searching for a decent hour,
But she never believed that.. Time will die,
While, she feels all is going sour.

She doesn’t know that it is all over.
She is convinced that there is something more.
In the darkness; in which she lays,
Digging in and out of the core.

She wonders why people don’t listen;
To her blaring words,
She can’t see the sun or its glisten,
Nor hear the sounds of birds.

She can’t remember what she did last,
Or why she feels this hole,
Deeper and deeper, her reality clashed,
deeper and deeper into this hole.

Hello? Hello? Is there someone on the line?
She feels that she’s falling deeper..
Into the dimness of her mind.

For she, time has become still
The situation is not clear to her,
All decisions, against her will,
Nothing more, than just a blur.

Now how can she know?
That it all ended that night!
Running away from herself,
A rushing dagger that torn her life..

But it’s okay, she tells herself,
“I’m feeling sleepy and alright”
“I’ll find my soul on Heaven’s shelf”
I’ll bid you all and goodnight.
