Yuletide 2012
Dear Yuletide Author,
As you can probably see, I like real people, and also movies about spies! I mean, who doesn't!? I have to admit, I find it hilarious that I accidentally (no, seriously) picked 3 fandoms that share Jeremy Renner. This was not my Yuletide intent, but it was clearly what my heart truly wanted.
Fandom by fandom breakdown:
Marvel Avengers RPF - It is honestly BAFFLING that there is not more RPF about this cast, though maybe it's because the film(s) canon is so rich we haven't run out of things for the characters to do yet? I have always been an RPF girl in fandom and this cast CRIES OUT for fic where they are hilarious together. Or naked. Or both, probably. I keep thinking I need to give more guidelines on this one, but I don't know how! Jeremy and Chris and Scarlett and Bob and Tom and Mark and other Chris and Joss and Sam! And Cobie! And CLARRRRK! Ugh, everyone is so great. Since you signed up for this, write me whatever makes you most comfortable, and whatever makes you kick your heels in glee. This is the only one I picked where I don't actually crave sex in my story - their friendships are magic! - but I wouldn't say no to it either! (I also wouldn't say no to an AU where these people know each other some other way - RPF AUs are kiiiiind of the best.)
Teen Wolf RPF - I will say nearly the same for this one, with the caveat that I do love the grownups on this show, and also I love slash, so feel free to write me Crystal or Holland being great, but I would love some dick-on-dick action here. The more the merrier! I also love boys being stoned and touchy-feely, and coming out stories, and oh, hey, Tyler Posey's birthday party was pretty rad? And the Argent-Hale Drinking Club makes me lightheaded? Note: if you really don't feel comfortable writing porn about this cast (really? REALLY??), I will take hilarity instead!
The Bourne films - I have always loved Jason Bourne, and now fucking ADORE Aaron Cross. I'm looking for a fic with Aaron in it in some way - future fic with Marta where they make a new life, or meeting Jason somehow; or pre-film fic about Aaron learning how to deal with people in a new way, since Kenneth's interactions would have been far different; or Aaron/Eric fic that probably won't have a happy ending (thus breaking a rule I have!) but which I kind of crave. (My headcanon is that Kenneth Kitsome was probably a virgin, or nearly so, when he became Aaron Cross but you don't have to share my headcanon!)
Mission Impossible - This is the only fandom where I picked a very specific pairing, and that is because a) Will and Benji are clearly the center of the team at the end of this film, b) Jane would not sleep with either of these idiots, and c) I can't get myself to read fic with Ethan because Tom Cruise, sigh. Also, Benji is WONDERFUL and BRILLIANT and SO BRAVE and so is Will and I think they would compliment each other brilliantly, and I want them to save the world with Jane and Luther (oh, god, I just thought about this, and I would absolutely read Jane/Luther). I love the idea of them stuck somewhere during a mission and having FEELINGS, or of one of them being injured and the other refusing to leave them, or of Jane being all "OH MY GOD STOP BEING STUPID" and making them kiss in the van. Or whatever. If you got matched up for this, you clearly agree that this pairing is under-represented, so write what would make you happy!
Things I like/dislike in general:
- A few of these pairings lend themselves well to humor. Run with that, if it's your thing!
- I am always pro-threesomes for solving problems.
- I love hurt/comfort fic, but I need the comfort to outweigh the hurt!
- I hate when awesome ladies are written out/turned into terrible people for no reason, especially (Susan Downey, Marta) if they are pretty kickass. Don't feel like you have to write them naked if that isn't your thing, but I do like some ladies being present/mentioned/not dicks.
- No genderswap, please!
- Happy endings are kind of a requirement? Though I will take ambiguously okay?
- Kinks are hard to pin down, so I would avoid major kinks? D/s especially has to be done really delicately for me to enjoy it. Unless you consider "intense pining" and "boys being stupid" as kinks, in which case GO FOR IT.
- I generally like first time/getting together fics more than established relationship fics, but I'm not married to it!
God, I feel like this is both way too much information and not enough information AT ALL. *hands* In general, I will be happy with any fic that has these folks in it, being happy and in love at the end (or happy and still best friends forever at the end!)
Mostly, I hope you have fun with it. Write something that makes you happy! Write something YOU would want to read! I'm grateful that you're a part of Yuletide, and look forward to seeing what you make of this insanity. *grin*
