(repeated from SOY)
The Mazoku Gods really aren't gods. That's just what the mortals call them so in the naming tradition they went along with it. Though such a supposed status does help them keep control over their people. But then compared to some other mythologies they can do just as much as gods.
Back in the day they weren't viewed quite so 'evil.' But then that gradually changed and was used heavily as propoganda during the Great War and the Cleansing that followed afterwards.
It's unclear when they gained their current names and what their names could have been before that, if true.
Silence: Creator of the Flow and existence of life.
Darkness: Coordination and union of all those below him.
Nightmare: His traditional domain are the mental realms. Such as dreams and nightmares.
Beast: Though he may sound important. His roll lies in the lives of living beings. Beasts, plants, people, etc. He's like the caretaker after Silence had created it.
Demon: She regulates creatures that aren't completely part of the physical realm. Which, of course, includes demons.
Hell: (Need to figure out her too XP. I might take her out.)
Death: A regulator and caretaker of the Flow and those in the Flow. Things like making sure souls go on their way when things die. Particularly watching for things that would badly disrupt the flow. There are many loopholes that one can occupy while still being part of the Flow though. Being undead is one of the common and usually harmless loopholes.
Time: Caretaker of time (yeah, just like that >.>;)
