simplified and updated

Ok, based on comments from a variety of sources, I decided that the city wasn't going to do it, and that the upper waterfall was more trouble than it was worth...so, here's the VERY simplified version. I decided it was better to accomplish something simple than to fail at something complex ;) This feels much better to me, although I am still open ( Read more... )

That looks much...cleaner....to me.

I'm a complete layman, and I would say that I like this one a lot more.

However, if you want nit-picky (and it all is):

1. At the bottom the screen, where the rocks are, there is some grass that is slightly distracting. Its right at the edge, and I would say either take it out, or give more perspective on what is there.

2. The rocks in the lower left corner seem to be...something. I don't know if they are or not, but something about them makes me think that they don't exactly belong.

Anyway, thats all I see, and thats trying to be really nit-picky. It overall looks quite nice to me. :)

You know what it is about those dark rocks? They're dark, but I wouldn't put them in a scene unless I wanted to make the scene seem really foreboding. Usually the cinematographer will get that sort of thing balanced out in a color correct or wait until the light is right, so deep shadows are only ever on screen if you really mean them. Movies are fake! It's like how everyone in the movies drives a new car unless they drive a really old jalopy.

I like this a lot better! You based this on a photo of the "secret beach" didn't you? Those rocks look familiar...

Yeah, almost all of the reference photos came from the "Secret Beach". I went out there this last Saturday and took a bunch of pictures to use for sourcing.
