Boo hiss. I love Moleskines and somehow being given one (well, winning one) seems so much more appealing than buying one for myself (and that's saying something about the level of appeal).
Which reminds me, it's soon time to get the 2009 Moleskine pocket calendar. And a new eraser for my stylish matte black pencil which resides beside the pocket calendar, um, pocket. Where it fits perfectly.
I boo and hiss myself whenever I'm rendered ineligible for a contest, usually for books and stuff. I personally have no problems buying one for myself, although I think I can partly understand what you mean about being given one.
(I don't buy the dated ones though. That's where I'm...electronic. I hope that doesn't scandalize you too much!)
