Hmm, I have been updating more frequently than usual. I hope someone reads my poems! D:
This is a meme thing that I was exposed to by
qualapec. She asked me the questions.
Leave me a comment saying "Suddenly an unconscious Argentinian fell through my roof."
▪ I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can get to know you better.
▪ Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
▪ Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.
1. What do you want to major in?
Well, I'm specific about the college I plan on attending, and at that college you CAN major in Japanese; it's just an independent major. I'm probably going to do that. Otherwise I would want to major in Spanish. Right now I want to be a translator/interpreter. :) (The reason I know what college I want is because it's really close to my house, AND my parents are professors there, so since it's a private college I get freeee tuition! Oh it tastes good.)
2. What annoys you most about school?
The attitudes of my peers. Or just the arrogance. And immaturity. It's very frustrating to deal with many of the people at school. I am a student who is genuinely invested in the learning process, but I am a rarity, so it is difficult at times to get the full experience I want out of school. The worst is when I'm an underclassman; it's harder for me to participate in the class, and I LOVE participating in class. But when it's full of upperclassmen who think they're all that and a pair of tube socks, it's much harder for me to enjoy school. I was really unhappy by the end of freshman year, and this was one of the factors.
However, this year it's a little better. I don't have the freshman stigma, and some classes that I have with upperclassmen are great (sociology), or it doesn't matter because you don't really participate in the same way (FST). And in world issues at first I was a little timid but come on, it's world issues! How could I keep quiet? Unfortunately, the one class where this dynamic still ails me is Honors American Lit and Comp, which is a real shame because I LOOOVE English, but those arrogant upperclassmen who sit in the front are just AGHH.
3. What kinds of characters do you usually find yourself liking/wanting to write?
Well! The hot guy with the tragic past. xD Seriously, it's a true fact. Kakashi is a prime example. Especially when I was younger I loved delving into some of the nastier angsty stuff. Now I prefer my angst a bit less violent... *sweatdrop* Another example is Snape! And original characters are usually steeped in angst angst angst.
4. I know you heart Colbert like crazy (I do too <3 ), any love for Stewart?
Yes yes! Stewart is a bit too old for me ha ha~ Of course, I don't really watch either of them that often... never remember/have time. D: I should really get to that more... Will do tonight! You would love the bag I bought from Barnes & Noble... it has Colbert on it, smiling at me... *sighs* If you check out the art meme I posted I have some pics I drew of him...
5. How did you discover fanfic?
Well, I don't remember exactly how I first found it. My first exposure to the internet was at the public library when I was in the third grade (sooo... 2002ish) and at first I just played games on CartoonNetwork.com... However, the first fanfic I read was Yu Yu Hakusho stuff. At first I found it on independent sites but eventually I found FFN (there was a lightbulb in the logo then... I miss that lightbulb...). I read some YYH fanfic, and I shamefully was a flamer sometimes... I remember there was this yaoi fanfic that pissed me off to no end because I always defended this character, Kurama, saying he wasn't gay (even though I later learned that the creator himself practically admitted it), so I was really nasty in my reviews. However, I had barely scratched the double digits so I know better now...
However! One day my dad was reading over my shoulder. I remember it quite specifically. An OC called a character (Hiei) "pointy butt", which was not appropriate language. So he told me he didn't want me reading this fanfiction stuff anymore. Also, I had some naaasty interactions with some people on an anon message board for YYH, so I stopped going near that stuff altogether. And you know, I think it was for the better, because that message board was not a good place for me to be, and even though my dad may have been a bit misguided trying to keep me away from the level of fanfic I was reading, I know he had my best interests at heart. <3 *loves her parents*
However, when I re-entered internet world it was to immerse myself in Mugglenet dot com and the Harry Potter fandom. Originally my Harry Potter obsession and the internet had not crossed, but I loooooved Mugglenet! (Still do, but I don't go there now that the books are all done.) There was some HP fanfiction that I started reading, but then I had to stop because I was getting confused about what had actually happened in book five and what was being made up for the fic... >< Then somehow I got back to FFN. Then I was reading Naruto fanfic and well... there you have it! It took me awhile to start writing my own... the first is a fic where Kakashi is Sakura's dad. *faceplam* Err yes my views have changed on that relationship...
