Naruto 500 (spoilers!)
Okay, besides my general dissatisfaction with the series as it has progressed, this birth of Naruto stuff is AWESOME!
- It's cool to find the history of Whirlpool. Nice little touch with the symbol on the back.
- Mito-sama is really cool! Here is one kunoichi nobody should be bemoaning Kishi about. I love that she was like a mentor for Kushina shortly before Mito died. She was really beautiful and then grew into one cool old lady, it looks like! And I bet all of you feminists out there (aka, everyone on the flist!) appreciate that both containers of the most powerful demon were women-- so they were obviously tough!
- Baby Sasuke!!
- Silvershine rightly predicted Mikoto and Kushina's friendship, huh?
- Holy crap, all of the new relatives and blanks that are being filled in! Sarutobi's wife, the name of Sarutobi's father, the First Hokage's wife, all of this stuff being filled in!
- I thought it was funny how they showed Kushina asking around/being worried about giving birth.
- By the way, the childbirth thing with the seal, I personally find kind of ingenious.
- Besides the part in the story where Jiraiya kind of forgets Kushina's name (this was when we first learned her name), there are no other holes that would prevent all of this from being true as far as I've noticed. Maybe I'm missing something, but it is a pretty awesome story for the Kyuubi attack!
- What will happen with Baby Naruto kidnapped!!! This is one flashback I hope to hell is really long. The Kyuubi fight is one we've seen recreated in countless fanfictions. Now we're getting the full story! Here's hoping for some more character cameos, namely Kakashi and maybe even Rin! Imagine that, closure on Rin. Many have suspected she died during the Kyuubi attack, but it would be nice to have confirmation on her fate (as I'm sure all would agree).
- Talk about some angst for Naruto. His birth released the demon. Poor kid.
Ah, very cool stuff! I'm actually really excited right now! Edit: Just found something really cool, guys! Apparently in the latest databook or whathaveyou, they released ratings of each Hidden Village's population, military, and economy. Not only is this just generally interesting, it is also useful for fanfic!
