"The feat was accomplished after Paul Rothemund at the California Institute of Technology simplified how to create complex structures at the nanoscale.
"Rothemund built a few DNA objects, including smiley faces, a miniature map of the U.S. and South America smaller than a typical bacterium, and a five-pointed star."
