[Location: Lobby then outside] You can brush my hair; undress me everywhere

Dec 04, 2010 01:49

Cassie jerked back to consciousness on the couch where she lay. Her hand went to her face, scrubbing it tiredly. When she'd splayed across one of the couches in the mansion lobby, she hadn't expected to fall asleep. But, apparently, she had. She sat up with a grunt, scrubbing a hand down her face before scratching at her scalp. Sending her sleep- ( Read more... )

Peter was making his way back to the mansion after meeting Faith. Now, he really was tempted to make a Christmas party to prove her wrong, but that took a lot effort and money he didn't really have. He scratched his forehead in thought as he crossed the street, looking up to see Cassie. It'd been a few days since they talked and he smiled at her, waving.

Completely unaware of the whole boxers situation.

Cassie noticed movement out of the corner of her eye and focused on it. It was Peter waving at her. Peter waving at her...in boxers. Well, that answered that question. She gave him a small wave and a smile, hoping her cheeks weren't as red as they felt.

She really didn't need to see that. Well, at least that's what she told herself.

And, Peter was completely oblivious. Poor Cassie.

He jogged up next to her. "Still scared of the dog, Cass?"

All 'holy shit, he's in his underwear' aside, Cassie huffed, looking over at him. "No, I'm not scared of the dog and thank you so much for bring it up."

She looked him over, frowning. How was he okay with this? It wasn't that warm out and he had to have been getting cold. She opened her mouth to say as much, but what came out was: "Do you know what'd look good on you? Me."

"Good to hear--" he stopped when she brought up the, well, suggestion? Is that what you would call it? Peter really had no idea. Instead he just stopped and stared at her. It took him a moment or two to figure out a response.

"You think so?"

Cassie lifted her hands, waving them a little. "That's not what I meant to say." That was SO not what she meant to say. What made her say that? "What I meant to say was, well...."

She looked him over pointedly, before: "Do you like short love affairs? I hate them. I've got all weekend."

If you could pass out from blushing too much, it's entirely possible that it might happen to Cassie. At least, she thought so.

Alright. This was weird. Cassie didn't talk like that.

Or maybe she did. He didn't know her all that well.

"Maybe you should try writing it down? Just so you don't turn into a tomato."

Okay, well, that was good. He didn't think she was a completely psychotic pervert. "Yeah. Pen and paper would be good."

She lead the way to the nearest shop, stepping inside. It was a simple bookstore, piled high with leather bound books. She grabbed a flier describing some reading program and a pen, turning the flier over.

Her every intention was to write out 'why are you just in your underwear?' But what she scribbled out was: I'll cook you dinner if you cook me breakfast.

"Shit."

Peter's eyebrows shot up in amusement this time. Alright, so, she couldn't say it herself. He was starting to lean towards it being something that the city caused. Again.

"Should I start guessing?"

Cassie crumpled up the flier, throwing it in the trash. Her cheeks burned and she lifted a hand, raking her fingers through her hair. "I dunno. I don't think I can say. Even in a roundabout way. Every time I try, I...say that stuff."

Her hesitation to finish the rest of the sentence was joined by a renewing of her blush.

Cassie looked around the bookshop. It was empty, for the most part, save a few half-naked people. The fuck was up with that? There was a second level, that appeared to have a coffee shop in it. Like a mini-Starbucks.

Cassie started for the stairs, waving her hand in his direction. "C'mon."

Peter glanced up at the second floor, following after her. It was like an extreme Borders... minus the religious section, he guessed.

It's not as if she was trying to sequester him away, she just didn't want other people to overhear those...fucking ridiculous pickup lines. Cassie sat down at one of the tables, a little on the awkward side.

She scratched at her cheek then tucked a shaggy lock of hair behind her ear. Cassie hadn't gotten around to getting her hair cut since she'd arrived, so her hair was a little longer than what she was used to.

"Okay," Cassie nodded, leaning back in her seat. "Not sure if this'll work. But it's worth a shot." Especially if it means him understanding why she keeps hitting on him.
