007 • [the cafe] but darling understand, that everything ends.

Being alone wasn't something she was entirely new to. Of course, she talked to several people in the city, but talking and companionship were a little different. John had disappeared, which was typical of him, and she tried to ignore how hard it was to let him go again. Then of course James and Jimmy had left many months prior. The only person left from home was now Ashley, but Helen hardly heard from her daughter. And then there had been the friends she had made in the city had had left as well.

It didn't roll off her back like water on a duck. Helen was just very good at ignoring it.

She leaned back in her chair at the cafe. The Sanctuary was finally completed and ready to accept patients or anyone else who needed their services. She hadn't sent the word out to a variety of people, given she didn't want word out on the street just yet. It would eventually as it was.

It was November. That meant Thanksgiving and then the Christmas season. Perhaps she'd take over the kitchens of the mansion and make dinner on both occasions. She let out a small sigh before looking out over the people passing by the cafe. Eventually one of her friends would happen to walk by.
