That was not a voice that Sophie was expecting to hear.
She was starting to think that it was just going to be her and Parker, but now Nate was here as well? She wasn't exactly sure what this place was trying to pull -- she wasn't sure she understood this place at all really, but it was something. She made her way forward into the lobby and frowned.
Nate froze at that voice and slowly turned around to face her. He hadn't been expecting that either. He had assumed their reunion would be a little different than this, but he didn't seem to have a choice.
He was trying to come up with proper words. 'Hello' maybe. Or 'what are you doing here?' would have worked. They weren't coming.
Because as far as he was concerned, she hadn't been around in months and he had been waiting impatiently for her to come home, and now he was somewhere...he didn't even know where...and she was there too.
A million things were going on at that moment, and he probably should have been more concerned with the whole...finding himself somewhere he hadn't been five minutes ago...but at the moment he was just settled on the fact that he hadn't seen her in so long.
"You're....hi." Not to mention he had just been yelling at her five minutes ago and she had hung up on him.
Oh, this wasn't good. She was already guessing what could have possibly gone wrong before Nate getting here and now, but it was entirely possible that this was a Nate that was in the past for her, and she was going to be placed in a very odd position.
Sophie wasn't sure how to respond to this. Where she was from, they were just managing to find themselves in some semblance of a working relationship. Now she had to start all over again.
"Nate, that was a year ago for me. This place -- it plays with time."
She sighed, running a hand through her hair. "We're in some kind of ... separate bubble. It's called El Dorado. For me, that was a year ago, while for you it had just happened."
He held up the cell phone that he had been given. "And how do I make this thing work?" Nate could pull the best of cons, but a cell phone for more than a simple phone call was a bit beyond him.

"Nate?"

"Nate? What's the last thing you remember?"

"Well...there was a fashion show and Tara, and...you and I were talking and you...I might have...gotten loud."
