Tilting her head a bit to the side, Dr. Temperance Brennan leaned a little closer to the skeleton that was on the examining table. The examining area was quiet for once as the rest of the team had gone home hours before. At the time she'd been thankful, but now she wished that one of her team had stayed behind.
Reaching out with a gloved hand, she ran her fingers gingerly over the ribs before peering closely at the skeleton's vertebrae. "Hmmm....." she muttered aloud. "The skeleton is in remarkably good shape. Female, and based on the dentition and condition of the vertebrae, she was fairly young. Possibly in the mid to late twenties, though no older than mid thirties...." Her voice trailed off as she shifted her attention to the skull. She carefully picked it up and began to examine it closer.
Suddenly the light changed, and Temperance found herself blinking rapidly, trying to get her eyes adjusted. After a few seconds, she was able to look around her surroundings and for a moment she was completely confused. She was no longer in the Jeffersonian, no now she found herself standing outside of what looked like a large hotel, cradling a woman's skull in her gloved hands. Her eyebrows arched and she slowly looked around, trying to figure out just where she was.
Maybe she was sleeping. Yes, that was the only logical explanation. She'd fallen asleep and now was dreaming of some... strange hotel she'd never seen before. She cleared her throat, and drew the skull a little closer and took a step forward. Well if she was dreaming, she might as well make the best and find out what place she was dreaming about.
"Hello?" she called out, "Is there anyone here?"
