Claire had wandered into the main kitchen hoping to get some dog food out of the pantry for Mr. Muggles. He was going to be miserable when she set it down in front of him, but that had everything to do with her mom spoiling him and nothing to do with bags of dry food she had found for him. It was normal, healthy dog food. When he was hungry enough, he'd give it a try. As much nice as it was to have him around, she wasn't going to track down gourmet dog food, or make it herself the way her mom sometimes did. He was going to have to learn to like it.
As she walked back out through the kitchen, she couldn't help but set the bag down on the counter while she gave everything a look over. The kitchen in her apartment was nice for what it was, but it was small, and lacked a lot of the gadgets that this industrial kitchen had sitting out for anyone to use. She knew that she should have walked out and gone back upstairs, but that wouldn't have been any fun. If there was one thing that she didn't get to have a lot of in El Dorado, it was fun.
So she pulled the refrigerator door open and looked at everything that was there, letting her thoughts get ahead of her as she immediately debated about ten things that she wanted to bake. It'd be a lot quieter in this kitchen than it was in her apartment, and if she made extra, then it wasn't like she was only using the kitchen for herself. She was willing to share as long as she was allowed to take advantage of the space.
With all of these things in mind, she started pulling ingredients from the refrigerator and setting them down on the counter. She was prepared to stop, if necessary, but in Claire's mind, there was something sad about a kitchen being as clean as this one. It was practically asking for someone to put it to use.
Besides, she'd clean up when she was done, and no one would ever know she been the one to leave the cheesecake bars in the dining room. Usually, when there was free food around, people didn't stop to ask questions.
