[Abby has been AWOL for days - creeping into her room late at night and being quite secretive about it all. But the silence has been broken! One each phone, picture and sound of Abby can be seen and heard, respectively. The screens aren't great for viewing streaming video, but damnit, she's excited

How the hell'd you pull all that off?
[Oh, and he's jealous.]

Long version or short n' sweet?

[So jealous. What'd she get a whole lab for?!]

...and that about covers it. Took me a few days. And I -think- I fried my phone in the process...

Jesus christ.
[It just seems to fit the moment.]

Hey, it was fun! If you wanna check it out, you can come over to the lab.
[She describes roughly where it is in the city.] Door's unlocked!

Gimmie a bit, okay? I'll see you soon.

[She grins and bops around the lab, happy to have a guest.]

He took off out of the hotel and did his best to follow the directions Abby had passed on. Once or twice he got turned around, but a couple of landmarks later he'd finally hit on it. Thankfully, the city wasn't quite that big. Getting lost would've made him feel that much sadder.
Walking inside, Shane observed the lab equipment from a distance originally. This stuff, he'd never seen before. It was all interesting, but some of it looked strange as hell too. "Jesus." He muttered under his breath, glancing around. Then he raised his voice some. "... Abby?"

"Hey!" Abby's grin couldn't have possibly been any bigger. "Welcome to the lab. Make yourself at home." She knew that even for the technologically savvy, forensics equipment could look downright hinky. "Look, touch, but please don't break. I'm not sure where I'd find a repair guy up here."

It was only then he actually remembered his manners. Shane snapped out of it, holding out a hand to her with mild embarrassment. "Sorry. Shane Gannon. Probably should've said that from the getgo."

"This is my office. This is the big screen. Thiiiis is my lab set up. Thiiis..." She rambled off a list of machines, pointing each one out. All in all, there were about four set ups that looked like a basic computer, though each were tweaked for a specific task. She turned and put her hands on her hips. "You like you want to play." She knew the look of a techy. It was like watching a kid in a candy store, and it made her smile.

When she'd finally settled, he found himself blinking at her stupidly. Then his eyes flicked over to the computer. "... I do." He admitted, embarrassed at how obvious he was. "Sorry, just... Christ." He went over to the computer, shaking his head.
"This is amazin'." He said over his shoulder, and Shane tenuously struck a few keys, bringing the cell phone network back up so he could get a look at it. "Anythin' else you been able to get into? Somethin' that networks out, maybe?"
Reply
"Got to the cell phones, but it took me almost a week. Only just got it to work correctly today. It was my celebratory message you caught back there. But I'm open to suggestions on where to go from here."

Or at least approaching this good. "Network just seems to run the length of the city." He continued to type, curious now. "Whatever tower you were bouncin' off of's only got so much power in it. Which I'd figure, obviously, is purpose. I'd think you'd have to kick it up a few notches before we could send anythin' out." He started hunting for some form of wifi.
Reply
"My guess is that the tower's here." She pointed to a large fixture in the center of town. "I think it's a temple. You know, the 'gods' that brought us here? I haven't been inside the place - have you?"
[ooc: making shit up as I go? Can fix if needed.]
