If there was one thing that Sasha hated about the city, it was that she couldn't call anyone who lived outside of it.
She had talked to every tech geek she could find, but no one seemed to know anything about calling out, getting out, or even sending a letter to her friends. It was seriously starting to worry her, but not for the reasons that people seemed to think; she wanted to call home so that she could make sure that everyone else was alright.
El Dorado wasn't the kind of city she would have chosen to move to, but it was alright. Her roommate was attractive. The people were friendly. It was prettier than Gotham, and the citizens had it a lot better. She felt safe, in spite of not knowing whether she truly was or not. It was exciting to be someplace different, but just up and leaving everything behind was a pain in the ass.
She missed her friends. Not having a job sucked, but the receptionist had told her to be patient. Sasha had no idea what that meant, but she was hoping that they'd either let her out or start bringing more people in soon. Considering how little everyone seemed to know about how the city worked, she thought she had every right be worried about the communication issue.
"It should not be this hard to phone home," she mumbled, shoving her phone back into her handbag. There was an empty bench a few feet away from her, so she decided to stop a take a seat while she thought over her options. Throwing the phone was tempting, but she had a feeling that she'd regret it later.
Not that it wouldn't have looked great in pieces in the middle of the street, or that it wouldn't have made her feel better. However, it would have been a fleeting feeling, and she knew better than to get destructive for something like that.
Why the hell couldn't they have given her an iPhone?
