Growling and snarking... be warned
OK...so I don't usually watch American Idol. Frankly I don't usually watch that much tv, and I tried watching it once or twice in other years and it annoyed me that the better talent got pushed aside for 'something cute'. But this season they had some talent that interested me and I popped in most weeks just to see how my favorites were doing (and the ones I really detested)
It didn't take long to realize it is 'fixed'...they have their 'pets' and no matter how badly they performed the judges would give them a pat on the head...or worse, GUSH over how 'artistic, original, etc' so snd so was. Then the pattern set it, and I could watch it developing. The twit blonde who could not sing her way out of a sock drawer kept staying... the talent kept leaving.
Then they booted Michael Johns and I knew who would win American Idol. Because he did NOT lose that vote. No way. He was cleared "out of the way" because he was the competition that could take out Cook.
Paula let it 'slip' how the contestants are 'prejudged' when she rated both of Jason's songs before he had even SUNG them both.
Last night David A scored a KNOCK OUT. Cook was pathetic. David A was brilliant. The judges knew it. Everyone I talked to knew it.
Cook won. It was fixed and I am finished with them.
Even my teenagers got up and stormed out, furious at the blatant hypocrisy of it.
Sad. Just sad.
And now I will resume not watching tv, I was right about it being a waste of time to begin with.
