Dilemmas in a Rock 'n Roll lifestyle
Today the dishwasher stopped halfway through a wash cycle a sat there with sadly blinking LEDs and a tray full of grubby water. As anyone who was suffering from a headcold, tired and mildly grumpy would do I went online straight away and ordered a new one which (incidentally) fits the colour scheme of our new kitchen much better.
Then, on closer examination and experimentation I discovered that disconnecting the extension hose we've fitted to the wastepipe kicked it into life again; either it was kinked somewhere along the sub-cupboard route or (more likely) the pump isn't manly enough any more (anything involved in pumping water in this area tends to die after a few years - our water is so hard you can crack rocks on it). This is why we're fitting an electronic water softener along with everything else.
So, cancel the order? Or...
Ah - the company have just phoned to say they've got it in stock and can deliver next Thursday which happens to be one of my days working from home. It must be fate - sod the expense, we're getting a new appliance.
