which, for those keeping score at home, is not the day Germany surendered.
so we are going with the super cheap or 'poor college students' slant to the day and it's corresponding gifts. for example instead of buying flowers at a store, where I could have gotten three, ten-day-old flowers, I stopped on the side of peachtree-Dunwoody* and picked narcissus(yellow and white/yellow) at my own peril. not just peril of bodily harm, but also peril of being arrested; the flowers were planted by the complex there, and it was also a right-of-way. So I risked life, limb, and jail time for some free flowers. I think that that should demonstrate a deeper level of devotion than a measly $50/rose would, dont you?
So we have been swimming alot at night. I do 30+ lenghts every time, which kris could do in her sleep, but still it is better than reuben's 1 or(if he's really going for broke) 2... I have learned alot in just these last few times with kris's help. she teaches alot of children every week how to swim. So I can only take so much 'teaching' at one time before learning things like how to 'point my toes like a ballerina' makes me want to puke. I dont know how she does it, I know I couldnt teach little kids(much less ME!). I would teach them how to hold their breath till they passed-out. we'd even make a game of it! I have a feeling I would get really good at CPR if I taught the class.
"no really officer, I just got here and I found him like that!"
ok, note to self, kris teaches our kids to swim, not me...
ok, well, off to our V-day trivia game at a local bar... come on, that's what couples do today right?
* we are studying public goods, like parks, in Econ so I figure that since they were on a 'green-space' like area, which is like a park, I could pick them; at least that is what I had in mind if a cop did stop and ask...
kris,
