This is for the Buddy System challenge over at
stargateland! I opted for the one-sentence prompts and tried to string them together. I ended up with two separate stories. Some parts flow better than others xD Enjoy!
((STORY NUMBER ONE))
002: reflection
After Charlie died, it was a long time before he was able to look at his own reflection again.
006: caught
Even longer before he could return to the house and look at Charlier's room, sit on his bed, pick up the last baseball he had ever caught.
010: listen
"Listen," Sarah had said, "This is just as hard for me as it is for you."
014: found
A few minutes later, she showed him the old Lego set she'd found in the basement.
018: unexpected
He wasn't surprised by the overwhelming emotions that resurfaced after going back, but Sarah's numbness - that was unexpected.
022: silence
Who ever knew that the silence of a child's room could split ear drums?
026: stay
"How long are you going to stay?" she asked.
030: charity
"There's not much of Charlie's left, you realize, since I donated so much to charity like we agreed."
034: after
But Charlie's things weren't what he was after.
038: jump
Memories, like the first time he taught Charlie how to jump a dead car.
042: gloat
Or the three foot bass he let the kid gloat over after catching.
046: surprise
The breakfast Charlie tried to make to surprise them on their anniversary.
050: breeze
In hindsight, raising Charlie had been a breeze.
054: war
It was the ongoing war with Sarah that had made things so hard.
058: fire
In the end, it was Charlie who had litterally been caught in the cross-fire.
((STORY NUMBER TWO))
062: snow
Once upon a time, Teal'c saw snow for the first time on earth.
066: fight
Naturally, Jack initiated a snowball fight.
070: lecture
Sam had to give Teal'c a quick lecture on the proper snowball-forming methods.
074: hair
This was back when Daniel's hair was still long.
078: flame
Teal'c was in the middle of forming a stash of snowballs when Jack nailed him in the face so hard, it stung like a flame.
082: lost
Teal'c lost no time in retaliating.
086: fall
Perfectly packed snowballs peppered Jack from afar with deadly aim, and it wasn't long before Teal'c witnessed the man's fall.
090: forgiveness
Teal'c approached to stand over the colonel, ignoring any pleas for forgiveness.
094: breakfast
And also ignoring offers to cook him breakfast later in exchange for his freedom.
098: flee
Jack did try to flee, but Teal'c pinged another snowball at the man's face, point blank, and Jack surrendered.
