la la la....

I'm wandering around the house trying to avoid homework. Rather normal for highschoolers I think, except that I am wandering around in my new stripey hoop skirt :)

It is the discontinued simplicity pattern. there are 13 rows of hoop steel in this puppy. That makes it a little bit heavy, but the weight is nicely distributed with the yoke thing inside the skirt, and the thing barely sways when i walk! I really like the elliptical shape, I can't wait to make some later 1860's outfits now :) This hoop is smaller circumference-wise than my other one. Due to that and the almost flat front, I can't wear my current 1860's stuff with this hoop since hems are completely wrong (and about 6 inches too long!).

Now I'm making a cage bustle out of this fabric :) Had just enough hoop steel left over from this project .

Drawing class went well today. We had a little critique session with our assignments (four drawings of the same object, one realistic, one expressive, one "designing the page", and one altering the object) and I got a 97 on mine, so that made my day :) Then a model came and we did 1 minute charcoal gesture drawings for the rest of the class time. That was so fun! But now I feel like I am covered in charcoal...its all under my nails...ick.
