India, its set in India!

So we are working on As You Like It in costume design class this term. And I've chosen to set my version of it in India...British colonial India circa 1810-20ish, to be specific.  The Dukes and the girls are British (governor types, though Frederick has a military bent so that I can have him in khaki and make his court generally drab), Oliver and Orlando are upper class, wealthy Indians, and then basically everyone runs off to the colorful, vibrant jungle to flounce about in traditional fabrics in glorious shades of saffron.  Why 1810? Because then the girl's traditional British garment shapes are similar to traditional Indian shapes, which is an interesting comparison and study.  And then I don't have to deal with the ramifications of the revolutions in the 1850's...East India Co. was still going strong.  Also, hello, booming textile trade and pretty opportunities for fabrics and trims and jewelry! Oh, and it seems to actually serve the plot quite well. And now, even that lion makes sense! ;)

So, I need pictures. LOTS of pictures. We need to do photo research collages for EACH character in the play.

Does anyone know of any good sources for this subject? I need info/pictures related to: British dress in India, British clothing circa 1810, BRITISH MILITARY UNIFORMS, influence of British clothing upon Indian fashion (and vice versa), Indian dress/adornment/footwear/hairstyles/hats/whathaveyou, of all classes, for this time period (though Indian clothing has remained fairly static, so that is mutable). Also some more info on the historical context wouldn't hurt, as I'm sort of running off vague notions and light reading right now.

I could use online sources, books, etc. I've already found a good 50 images but I need tons more. our library doesn't have very much on this topic (surprise, its still stuck in 1950!).

insanity, as you like it, overachievment, school
