Ok, before I say anything else!

1 - I've read very, very few X-Men comic books. Certainly never read Days of Future Past. (XMEN COMICS ARE THE MOST TWISTED LABYRINTH DISASTER AREA OF STORYTELLING HOLY MOLY.)

2 - I've not seen the original X-trilogy movies in a while. (I'm putting this up before my rewatch on purpose.)

I had also been worried about this.

Then, my mom and I went to Spider-Man 2 a couple of weeks back. There was a much longer trailer full of scenes that were new to me. It and the scene during the credits were the best part of that viewing experience.

There was a scene of Erik and Charles having it out with each other. There was a scene of Charles and Raven having it out with each other.

Charles seems to be in a dark place between feeling abandoned (although some of it was his doing) and being paralyzed but I kind of like it and think it makes what comes afterward sweeter.

The women ratio seems like it might end up even poorer than First Class but they did cast Omar Sy and Booboo Stewart (both POCs) which is good. I just hate that since Game of Thrones, Peter Dinklage seems doomed to being typecast as the villain.

One of the things that did really excite me about the credits clip was that it had Havoc! I wasn't even sure Havoc was in this film because I wasn't sure how much of a sequel it was but his being in the clip and the fact that Mystique had actually tracked him down on purpose...got me really excited.

The women ratio was really horrible in the end! Otherwise, I liked it overall. :D
