So, the fanfic work-in-progress meme, which I picked up from pocky_slashAs I have something like 60+ (NOT KIDDING) unfinished fic lying around, I thought I'd give you a limited selection . (And some of it I might actually finish now. This meme was a great excuse to go digging around my old stuff

Also, I feel like Vulcans wouldn't be that great at being a captain.

I love Helga! I feel like she was a very no-nonsense sort of awesome, while Godric was all "Look! Sword! Shiny!" and Rowena was off somewhere with her nose in a book, totally ignoring the real world.

And yes on the Vulcan captains. Not that Kirk's Gryffindor style of leadership is always the best either...

Kirk's is more malleable, though. Vulcans just stick to the letter of the law. Since Kirk can think outside the box, that allows him to seek out a third option and come up with something even better.

Oh, Kirk is defiantly better than Spock. But the captain should never be on the front lines, for example. Especially not with his second-in-command. That's just asking for trouble. (Makes for great TV, though.)

Hence why Picard would never be part of the away team, that was Riker's job.

...and that's the reason Picard makes a better captain. *runs to hide from the Kirk fans*

I actually like them both for different reasons. But it can't be argued - Picard was a better captain. Kirk was a better action hero.

Picard is a much better captain, commanding officer, and all around hero. It's easier to punch an aggressive alien out than it is to make a diplomatic compromise that benefits both sides. Picard is the captain you die for, Kirk is the captain you die from.

Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration, Kirk can be pretty cool with his sneaky ways, but yeah, Picard was the better captain.

It might be a slight exaggeration, but the "redshirt" phenomenon only existed in the original series and is STILL referenced and remembered today.

So...yeah. :D

Then again, at least Kirk didn't endanger children like Picard did each and every week.
