I read the first two trades of Immortal Iron Fist. SO GOOD. I shouldn't be surprised, I suppose, because I really love everything Ed Brubaker does, but it was Marvel and not Captain America or Fantastic Four, so I probably wouldn't have even looked into it if it basically hadn't been handed to me. I have to find a job next semester at this rate.
Went to the comic book store intending to pick up an issue of Super Friends (trying to support the kids's titles, which tend to be consistently high quality fun), and walked out $21 poorer. Clearly, I completely lack self control in comic book stores. Complete lack.
Saw
a post from Gareth David-Lloyd about Sex, Wales and Anarchy and this caught my attention: "Looking back, the most successful of my countless auditions were prepared for in frustration, rage and sometimes even despair. After six months of being told I ‘wasn’t quite right’...I would audition out of spite, and, for some reason this stubborn arrogance that reared its ugly head from time to time would generate a positive response. Hello Ianto." I, of course, burst out laughing.
I really want to go to
Chicago Tardis 2010. Really really really.
Speaking of fan conventions, I'm still catching up on the craziness and announcements from San Diego. It's still a life goal to that convention ONCE, but a lot of the reports I'm hearing have me gingerly aware of the sheer crazy size. I don't need the huge crowds or Hollywood marketing. I want to go to panels and see stars joke around with fans, and I want to have fun, really. But the fact that they've (basically?) finished casting the Avengers movie is pretty awesome, I will admit.
