I looooove the Paprika OST. ALL of Hirasawa's work is amazing, though. And he's done a lot of personal albums besides his soundtracks. His style varies so much, there's pretty much something for every mood one could want. It's always somehow still *him*, though, and his amazing voice never fails, just seems to get better and better with age.
You'll recognize a couple of songs on the album I uploaded as being in the Paprika OST as well - that overlap is something he tends to do a lot, I've found. The one called "Byakkoya" (track 2) is the same song as plays during the Paprika ending credits, but if you listen closely the lyrics aren't quite the same, and the high female voices aren't there. Still beautiful, though, just a little different.
And thank you! I'm glad he comes across as mysterious - it's what I was going for. A point of trivia: I associate track 3 ("The Stillborn City"; how vaguely creepy a title is that? I just wish I could pick out the lyrics better by ear so I could understand the reason for the title) most with him; not quite sure why. It's my favorite track in the album though, which might have something to do with it. ^^
