London

Paddington station We actually spent most of April abroad.  Apart from the Tel Aviv trip, there were a few weeks in Britain; mostly London.  We had a couple of weeks of holiday together, and then Melinda went home and I stayed for an extra week of work, which turned out better than I had expected because shortly before the trip I discovered just how many things are going on there that are related to my work, so I ended up getting to know a lot of potential collaborators.

Even with all that time, we still packed slightly too much into the trip, though there's no thing I regret doing.  We took day trips to a National Trust estate in Hertfordshire, Bath and Brighton, visited Kew Gardens and Epping Forest (my first time at either), spent a lot of time on the new rental bikes or walking the canals, and watched our sister-in-law run the London Marathon.
