Originally uploaded by eldan I'm... uh... a little behind on posting here. I blame working too hard. After a day of work which largely involves typing at a computer, I have limited appetite to do more of the same. I have been taking photos and actually keep up with myself on the processing for once, I think because those things both feel like a nice relaxing change after work. I just keep forgetting to blog about them.
So, catching up: we did much the same Christmas/New Year trip as the previous year: first Michigan to spend Christmas with Melinda's side of the family, and then Florida to see the New Year in with mine. I ended up going to the Everglades alone this time, which was a shame but I wasn't able to make it fit with anyone else's plans and didn't want to miss a chance to go - in the end I only regretted not having given myself longer there.
Since then we haven't gone far from home, which has been nice for a while, especially as we live in a rather beautiful part of the world anyway. We have visited Mercer Slough (a short bus ride from here) and Wilamette Valley wine country (easy light rail + bike trip from Portland), done some skiing (I only brought the camera to Alpental), and one snowshoe trip, and then last weekend we got a good look at the moon.
