March Madness - Round 2

Mar 20, 2005 02:18

Today I went with a friend to Indianapolis for the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The first game that we watched was Illinois vs. Nevada. This game was pretty close during the first half, but once the second half came around, Illinois dominated the game. The second game was the much anticipated battle between UC and UK. The RCA Dome was full of people. In fact, we set a single session record with 40,000+ people. There were more UK fans than UC fans, but the UC fans made sure they were heard. The game started off on the wrong foot for UC, as they trailed 9-0. But they got back on track and ended the first half with a two point lead. The second half was a very competitive one with each team trading baskets back and forth. It seemed as no one would budge, but in the end UC wasn't able to hit there shots and UK did, and the final result of the game was 69-60 Wildcats. Despite the loss, I was very proud of the way we competed and I was glad that the game was such a close one. I can honestly say that I got my money's worth. Thanks again to that friend who decided to go to the tournament with me. It was a lot of fun and it is one memory that I will treasure forever. After the game, I drove back, because my friend was tired and didn't want to drive. I enjoy driving, so I told her that I would drive if she wanted me to. Anyways, the trip back was a long one and we were both pretty tired, but we finally made it and now here I am. Well, that's all for now. I should get to bed, since I will be going to West Lafayette tomorrow with my parents to visit my older sister. This will be the 3rd time in 4 days that I go to Indiana. Goodnight!!!
