Watch out iPhone users in the Philippines!
I thought that by installing WiFi in my DSL connection would make life easier for PC-Laptop users in the house. Yes, ok sa PC or laptop but then came iPhone..and after a week of using it with the Wifi, Globe billed us 2.5k because "our network went down" and Globe autimatically reconnected it to their system without even saying, "Hello, Your network cannot do your search on Google. Do you mind if you will continue using Globe's Amazing network?".
Well, what they're saying is your DSL provider sucks and we can do it better - our coverage is better, etc. Turns out that a lot of fellow Globe users were also billed as Globe automatically reconnects your iPhone to the internet as this service is an embedded/default in all iPhones in the country.
Akala mo ginagamit mo yung WiFi sa bahay mo using IPhone ay OK na rin? Wrong! Three letters - APN! Yan ang may sala ng lahat! I don't even know what it stands for but it sure makes your bills go higher than Mt. Everest.
I hope the telcos will use a prompter and asks your approval first before automatically connecting it with their network. Alam ba to ng NTC?
