Yesterday was kind of an adventure...
Got home from watching "The Devil's Rejects" (wherein it was discovered that Rob Zombie must have raped an angel to get a daughter that hot) and tried to get up early to hit a Hot Rod car show in Philly. I got down there around one, and ran into someone I was hoping to meet, so that was cool. Cruised around all the cars, got to see my friend's boyfriend's car which was hidden in the back lot with a lot of other cool cars. I didn't even know there was another lot back there!
I tried calling my friend Mouse who has some chores she would like me to do around her apartment, but I wasn't able to get a hold of her. I have something for her, too. We will get together eventually, I am sure.
Saw some cars, heard some live bands, drank some beers, DIDN'T get sunburn (YES!), and got to run into a lot of people I knew. I had a good time until things moved inside. It was darker and louder and I found myself walking around by myself (which was more fun outside I will have you know) and ended up leaving before the big show at nine.
I called Miss Kitty and ended up hanging out with her for the remainder of the evening. She even made me dinner, yum! I started to get really tired around 10:30 and managed to slip away pretty early despite hearing some stories that really wanted to make me stay, Grrrrr... I was in and out of touch with another friend Meeeee-feeeeee during the week and called her to see how her weekend was making out.
Good thing I called, she wanted to know if it was bad that her temperature gauge was reading off the chart. I assured that it was, indeed, a bad thing and advised her to pull over. This time she did. Last time the driver of the car she was in continued going while her OIL PRESSURE light was on. Needless to say that DID not turn out so well.
But she listened, and she was leaking coolant. I had to drive past her to get home, so I picked her up. I then picked up a tow dolly and we went back to rescue her car so I could look at it this afternoon. Stupid ground effects wouldn't fit over the dolly, so we had to leave it where it was. She had it towed this morning and the shop she took it to found the problem and fixed it. Her thermostat had frozen shut. I don't see how that would cause a leak, so I am guessing pressure built up somewhere and burst a line.
But anyway, she has her car back for work today, and the whole thing cost her a pittance. I think it is safe to say that everyone is happy. So my attempt to get home early from Jersey had me out until 1:30 this morning. But I hadn't seen Meeeee-feeeeee in a while, I had to pass her anyway, and let's face it, I like helping out. And I got to show off a little bit by pushing her car uphill with her steering. It was a good time, and I was glad to hear it wasn't a head gasket or a cracked block.
Did ya miss me?
