Why is it when we make a mistake we let ourselves continue to spiral downward and make more mistakes? Why do we return to do the same things with the same people? Why can't we just choose to be different, choose the choice that will lead to a better life?
Is it because we want the instant feeling of something? Is it because we try to get the most out of our mistakes once we know we have failed? But if it's a mistake no matter how far in we go, we don't get anything.
It's like we are searching for something that can never be found and creating an even bigger mess that leads to more searching.
In the end, it's all emptyness and heartache.
Habits, behaviors, addictions.
The things that suck the life out of me with false promises of fulfillment.
Habits that leave me more broken and devastated.
Behaviors that hurt myself and those around me.
Addictions are the things we think we can't live without, but we could really live much better without.
I'm making big life changes, and I hope those who have asked me the same questions recently are making their big life changes too.
It's always worth the fight.
