Run Report (abridged):

Aug 09, 2010 08:53

I decided to take it easy on myself, seeing as it's been nearly a month since I Lost The Thing That Goes Boop. (And as I recall, that run kinda sucked the big one in more ways than just losing the Boop Device.)

- I was out for about 30 minutes and ran 8 of them. Not bad, really. My first goal is to run 10 minutes worth of intervals. So this is actually a decent start - I may hit that goal by Friday.

- I need to get out earlier. Got out there at 8, when the Weather Channel claimed it was a nice 77 degrees. 77 degrees in August is quite different from 77 degrees in springtime.

- I didn't bring my MP3 player, just to see how I did without it. I kind of missed it, but I don't know that I need it. Still, I had music in my head that I need to add to the player.

- I was actively chased by two dogs - a big lab mix-looking thing named Bingo (his owner was calling him back) and the little neighborhood yip-yapper (I think a chihuahua mix). Makes me wish for my own dog that can run with me. Or leash-trained cats. (They would have taken care of the chihuahua, but not so much help with Bingo.)

- Read somewhere that you shouldn't run on an empty stomach, but the jury was out on just what to eat. I had a breakfast bar and some coffee today, and other than a couple of burps and a stitch in my side I was okay. Next time I'll try protein.

- I need a visor. And some new shoes. Perhaps running shorts that don't ride up? Definitely some music...

I'm adding a Song To Sweat To - this song's been on repeat in my head for a couple days, dunno why:

And for some strange reason, I'm wanting to add Weird Al to the mix. Just to throw myself off, I guess.
