Texas to Pac 10: Naaah. Here's what I think could happen (three scenarios):
- The SEC will swoop in like the big evil pigeon it is, making Texas an offer they can't refuse and dragging OU, OSU and Tech kicking and screaming with them. In which case, Tuck Fexas Even Moar.
- The number stays at ten, and the Big Ten and Big Twelve simply switch names.
- Invites are sent to other teams to fill in the Colorado and Nebraska gaps. My personal short list includes:
Arkansas (and watch the SEC wee themselves, muahaha)
Tulsa (another Oklahoma team will even things out, methinks)
North Texas (did you know the Mean Green is one of the few nicknames that doesn't have the letter "s" in it? The more you know!)
Iowa (strengthening that in-state rivalry - plus, The Hawkeyes are my dad's favorite team.)
Texas-El Paso (oh, why the heck not...)
They'd have to rearrange the division teams (moving at least OSU into the North division, which will strengthen them, because sheesh Missouri...), but they'll have to do that even if they stay with ten. Add two Texas teams, and both the Oklahoma teams head North, which makes it Texas VS Everybody Else. Which may be the way it is any damn way.
Like I said, this week is going to be interesting. With the Big XII suddenly deciding they didn't want to go on the cart, there's even more to contemplate...
