Because there's a decent chance of twisters starting this afternoon and lasting well into the wee small hours.
Times like this, I think of my late step-grandma and what she did during severe weather: went to bed and put the covers over her head. "If it wants me, it can come get me" she said. "At least I'll be comfortable."
This is the same woman who would see a big crowd on TV - football game, concert, whatever - and say "just think... every one of those people have a kitchen table."
I wanna be a wise old woman. Not soon, but eventually. So I won't be in bed if the sirens go off. We'll have the mattress over us anyway.
I'll keep everybody updated. Sigh. Another sleepless night ahead...
