Yesterday, the weather models promised nothing but snow (I mistyped that as "snot") in my neck of the woods today, although there'd be plenty of it. Fine. I can drive on snow.
This morning, some channels are predicting up to a quarter inch of ice. Which is still enough to fuck things up if it tries hard enough. And is shit to drive on.

Mickie's teacher just called - she has two zeros for assignments and a 32 test grade in math. The test grade was low because she only answered 9 questions out of 25. And it's just in math that she's pulling this crap. During the above mentioned test, she decided that picking up debris on the floor was more important than finishing all the questions...
But the kid, she knows her math stuff. She just kinda decided she wasn't going to prove it. Mr. Gee knows how smart she is - said "she's too smart to not show her work." I'm glad he agrees...
I'll talk with her tonight at Mom's house when I go pick her up. Mr. Gee is sending a letter detailing her shortcomings, so I'll have back-up. And maybe I'll get Mom to slip out of Benevolent Grandmother mode for a minute and get into the Badass Mom gear I remember from my own childhood. That'll help.
Motherhood is hard. Harder than math.

This stupid wisdom tooth is making my whole mouth hurt. I'm even more aware of my receding gums (as much genetics as they are neglect).
Six more days... And it's supposed to thaw out some before next Wednesday, so I won't get an apologetic call asking me to reschedule because The Good Doctor can't make it in.
(His receptionist that I spoke to yesterday was nice - she asked my height and weight, I mentioned I was trying to lose weight, and she rounded down from the number that I spitballed. Good people hire good people, so...)
