Okay, so where are the people that are up in arms about "the sanctity of marriage" about this?
If you're really worried about the institution of marriage, go close the quickie-chapels in Vegas. Make getting a marriage license (even) harder. Make divorce more difficult to get (unless somebody's in real danger, physically or mentally speaking, then make it immediate and free). Make couples counseling widely available and, if not all out free, then inexpensive.
Make the straight people get it right before you get your fingers in the gay marriage stew. And I say this as a heterosexual divorce' who's about to try it again.
