Twister? I barely knew her!

Just as I got done editing my last post, I heard the sirens go off. I said something along the lines of "what the hell's going on", got off the internet, turned the channel to the weather, and called Mom. She told me to turn it to a certain local station, where David Payne was all "OMGWTF TORNADO ONNA GROUND!" (We like David Payne. He's amusing.) At this time it was southwest of us, and the movement was northeast-ish. OhShit #1.

There was also a wall cloud west-northwest of here. OhShit #2.

Andy called on the cell while I was on the landline with Mom. He urged me to go across the street to his co-workers house so we could get into the shelter. By then, the sirens had died down and it looked like we were going to be clipped by the bad storm, if not missed entirely. So I humored him to get him off the phone and we went to Mom's.

Mickie had to grab her DS and a few stuffed animals (for company, dontcha know) and I worried a bit about the cat before we got in the car. I had sat down when I realized I'd kept the window open and Mr. Man Kitty had ducked into my car for a snooze. I made a rash decision, told him to hold on, and took him to Mom's with us. He explored my old bedroom for a while until the threat passed us.

It's still going on south of here. Bison (where my grandpa has a farm, and where we're headed tomorrow to pay respects to Twiggy) was a 'bullseye' for a tornado for a few minutes, but it kinda petered out before it hit town. Thank goodness.

Now there's a really big tornado on the ground southeast of here. Yikes. It's starting to clear out here. Still hearing thunder, but the sun's shining. Welcome to Oklahoma.

More bulletins as events warrant, although I think we dodged the bullet. Good thing, too, because the current tornado near Marshall is a big mugga fugga.

weather, mom, twiggy, mr. man kitty, andy, mickie
