First part of the day: three-year-olds. Articulate, potty-trained, like to cling to my ankles and watch me attempt to walk. One particularly grumpy (but OMG ADORABLE) little girl denied being tired (although she was; kids never own up to being tired, they just fall asleep where they stand when they can't take it anymore) but admitted "me hungwy." And a part of me went all caps with "YES MOPPET YOU CAN HAVE ANYTHING YOU WANT AND WHY ISN'T THE LADY FROM THE KITCHEN HERE YET THIS CUTE LITTLE THING NEEDS FOOD RIGHT NOW!" (Shut up, capslock part of me. Can't have another one right now. Content yourself with the job.)

And then a baby boy with the bluest eyes I've ever seen simultaneously smiled and burped at me. Coo.

The second part of the day was in the back room with the preschoolers and school-age kids. Nothing negative per se about them now, other than I'm a little bit more deaf this evening. When do they grasp the concept of 'inside voices'? And when does their taste in music mature? Because Hillary Duff has become a dreaded little blonde Earworm. Crap. *digs at eardrums*
