The Six Word Novel

Nov 09, 2006 10:32

WIRED has a great piece called "Very Short Stories" with subhead "33 writers. 5 designers. 6-word science fiction". It was inspired by Hemingway's own 6-worded story: "For sale: baby shoes, never worn."

The magazine version had some impressive layouts to boot, but the stories themselves were very entertaining.

Here are some of my favorites:

Longed for him. Got him. Shit.
- Margaret Atwood

With bloody hands, I say good-bye.
- Frank Miller

It’s behind you! Hurry before it
- Rockne S. O’Bannon

Here's mine:
Got a Mac. Got a life.

Your turn.
