Arising from the chair, he stood, tall and gaunt preliminary eyeing Darren. “Detest me, then.”
“Don’t tempt me;” Darren, on foot, placing a knee atop the table meanwhile keeping his eyes penetrating.
Daniel’s face coiled into a smile at the childish display of the other slowly crawling toward him, “And what of Richard?”
Darren hesitated, and then, “This is the life under the advertisement. He must accept all of me.” He bit his lip in acute discomfort; “Without your complicated I don’t feel like myself.”
Daniel found himself climbing knees onto the table, “That’s what I’ve been trying to voice.”
