You know, there are alot of things I've been wanting to write about - sad things and good things and frustrating things, but since I am often ahead of the game at work, I usually do it then... except big brother killed lj after like 5 years... I get a blocked message, with the reason being something along the lines of Online community or some such. Yea, it sucks...

I'd like to post more right now, but it's late and I'm tired. Plus, the weekend is going to be kinda hectic. I'll post some quick blurbs though, just in case people have been dying for updates or something.

Sad news: Our beloved cat Bela died 3 weeks ago. I'm just now posting about it because it actually hit me quit hard. She was having major problems, losing weight, not eating. We took her to the vet and they wanted to run tests on her. We decided to do the tests but they weren't going to be until the following Monday so we opted to bring her home until then. We are glad she did. Saturday evening while watching a movie with my dad, I picked her up gently and set her in my lap. She laid her head down and got comfortable. That was my last moment with her, and the next morning while we were getting ready to leave for breakfast, she crawled under our kitchen table, laid down and just stopped breathing. I think having to handle the body afterwords is what got to me, because I didn't really want to have my last moments with Bella be that - but I just tried to remember the night before when she was in my lap, and I got to say my goodbyes.
Good things: Gen con was a total blast, and the entirety of what I did is too long for this post. My buddy Chris came down and we had a really good time hanging out, playing various games and just taking it all in. We even took a break and got to tour the new Colts stadium which is very large, and has one of the longest and highest freaking escalators I've ever been on. Ashley had a blast riding it though.
Frustrating things: Lack of communication between Emily and I made Gen Con weekend also highly stressful. The good news out of that though is that we learned a thing or two and I think next year will go much smoother.

This weekend we are giving our kitchen a facelift. We'd like to gut and redesign but since we don't have the money, we're opting for just making it look nicer. For help in this project, my Dad is coming down, and also Emily's Mom, Stepdad & half-sister - so it's going to be a full house to say the least. Here's hoping everything comes together.
