I have not really written in this journal in awhile. It's not that I haven't had anything to say, it's mostly been due to outside factors beyond my control - with a little laziness thrown in.
At work, I got a stern talking to about my internet practices - even though they weren't really out of line. Whatever, but I guess you could say I shaped up anyways and really started focusing on work while I was at work. I discovered something though - work is really boring.

Not boring in the sense that there's nothing to do, but boring in the sense that it doesn't challenge me. I suddenly started banging out repair tickets and orders, taking phone calls like a mad-man - and I'm good at my job. I'm also fast, and it usually goes without saying that I can get all the points I'm supposed to get in a day and still have a few hours left on my shift. It is a bit of a conundrum in a way, because I have a certain 'quota' if you will that I have to meet, but I also don't want to overdo that quota. The thing is, if I were to work as hard as I'm capable of every day, I'd have 90 to 100 pts an hour - and we're only supposed to have 61! You could say that I should show these people who complain about me what I'm really capably of, but then I feel they would start to expect it - and when they start to expect it they then make it part of your requirements...thus I have to tone down my performance so that it's exemplerary without overdoing it.

In other news, gosh - I can't believe that it has almost been 1 year since Ashley was born. ONE YEAR! That's amazing! She's changed so much, and everyday she's picking up something new. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - I love being a dad. It certainly hasn't been easy, but it's also been a wonderful experience. She's on the verge of walking right now, and the other day when I came home from work, she took like 5 or 6 steps towards me! I was so thrilled! She had such a big grin on her face too, it was great. Then, she was making me laugh and having a ball herself by headbutting the couch. It's very soft and plushy on the head-rest part, so she was laughing and throwing her head into it and then bouncing back, letting me catch her. Ahh..so much fun. When it's time for her to go to bed (at around 7pm) she lets us know by getting winny and cranky. So we give her a bottle and rock her. For the past couple of weeks, it's been interesting because now she pushes the bottle away when she's done and then tries to turn in my or Emily's arms in order to snuggle into us. So we'll hold her for a bit and then put her in bed. She's out like a light! It's been so great. Getting her to this point was tough at times, but the work certainly paid off!
I got a new game called Hellgate: London and a friend and I have been having a blast with that. Then, I still am heavily into eve with another friend of mine. No signs of stopping that one - there is just so much to it. My alliance is close to attempting a push into true 0.0 space (A completely lawless area controlled by players rather than Non-Player-Character police) so we'll see how that goes. I'm about 15 days away from completing a goal I've had for a very long time on my main character, and I'm pretty damn excited about that.

Well, enough about all that - things are going pretty well in the Myers household, if a little busy with stuff coming up. Thanksgiving should be a great break from work, and I can't wait till the christmass holiday. We're going out to Nevada to have christmas there, and then leaving Ashley with the grandparents and going to Vegas to see two good friends of ours married. Yea, good times are coming up.
