my week as a single parent
All in all, it really wasn't that bad. I rather enjoyed it actually. I don't believe there was ever a moment where I was like, god, I can't wait till Emily is home. I just did what I had to do, and Ashley is not traumatized or anything. Some of you may have already seen the video Emily posted on her LJ at That_girl_lola. There is a lot of sillyness from me, but I get a big kick out of making my daughter smile and laugh. It's life to me. I relish being a Dad, and if I couldn't be goofy for my kid, then what kind of Dad would I be?
It just goes to show how much Ashley thinks of both of us though, because although she never showed signs that she missed her mom per say, she sure gave her a big smile when she got home as in "you're that other person I love!" or something along those lines.
