Yes, it's that time of the year again....time for cherry blossoms! This weekend was the Sakura Matsuri (aka Cherry Blossom Festival) at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and despite the prediction of rain from the weathermen, by the time we got to the garden, it was bright and sunny (and hot!). Nice change from last year, when it was overcast and gray until the end of the day. Perfect for photos :D

Japanese Gate
It was really much less crowded than when we went last year; I suspect it was because the weather looked pretty crappy this morning. Anyway it was nice to be able to walk around the Japanese pond without having to fight people on the path.

Smelling the lilacs
I cannot tell you how amazing these lilacs smelled. We literally spent 20 minutes walking from tree to tree, sticking our faces in the flowers and inhaling. So yummy.

Afterwards, we went over to the Brooklyn Museum to check out the
Takashi Murakami exhibit. No photos from that though, as we weren't allowed to take any, but it is definitely worth checking out if you like Japanese pop art. We thought it was interesting too that they had a little Louis Vuitton shop selling the Murakami designed stuff. I didn't ask how much it cost, heh. Anyhow, the exhibit runs until July so....check it out.
All in all, a nice Sunday! Now for some mangos and tea.
