Valentines Day thoughts

Feb 15, 2020 08:40

I seem to have bad/thoughtless timing with grocery shopping and holidays. I went to CostCo on Saturday afternoon before Super Bowl Sunday and it was horrible. And I’m thinking, wow, it’s good I usually come in the morning, this is horrible, and I look around at the number of carts with platters of appetizers and cartons of beverages and oh... right.

I left work early on Friday, and a quick grocery store stop at 4:00, no big, right? Except it’s Valentine’s Day and flowers and chocolates are flying off the shelves. *sigh*

But it did sorta have me thinking about... who would be the disorganized person who didn’t think about VDay and is scrambling for the best of the grocery store flowers and chocolates? Or maybe it’s a clueless person who hasn’t quite realized they’re dating until a good friend points it out that morning and is OMG it’s VDay, you have to do something! Or maybe the person was organized but his plans fell through and yikes, he’s rushing for substitutes.

So that was nice but I deliberately tried to not get too far along any scenario because clearly nothing was getting written by VDay and I’ve got three stories tussling in my brain anyway. But variations, you know? I like variations and thinking of differently how things might go. I guess I wouldn’t be obsessed with fanfic if I didn’t.

Hope y’all had a nice Valentines Day whatever you did. Mine ended with Steve’s arm draped over Danny’s shoulders as the entire H50 family settled in to watch “Love Actually,” so I was pleased.
