I had the PICC line installed today. Well, sort of. The nurse could only insert the catheter so far, so she called it more of a "mid line." It won't last as long, but it should serve our purposes. The IV antibiotics are a piece of cake, since I've done this routine before.
Tomorrow, I get to go in for a dressing change. This will be a once-a-week thing, so I am hoping we can keep doing it on Saturdays.
Lunch/early supper was at Mimi's Café. Neil wanted their French Onion soup for his throat. I had a baby greens, walnut and blue cheese salad with chicken added. I ate a very small amount before being full and had the rest boxed. The salad came with a huge muffin, so I ordered the kind Neil likes (honey bran) and had it boxed for his breakfast some morning.
I spoke briefly with Miss B today - always lovely to hear from her. She had helpful advice about my foot, and when I see Dr. Noe on Wednesday, I will ask her about a "wound vac," which is said to assist in healing. Costs nothing to ask!
It's time to go to beddie-bye. Take care, all, and may your weekend be very pleasant.
