Don't you just *love*...

...looking at your entry a day or two after you posted, only to find out there were one or more typos of the most bone-headed variety, as in, "Someone was NOT paying attention."?

Neil is at work. I am here. Breakfast dishes still need to be done, but that shouldn't prove any difficulty. Then there's cat boxes. Yay. I suppose it's rather like having children and complaining about diapers. Kids and kitties both have to "go."

Supper tonight is Chinese buffet. Tomorrow night will be something involving beef. I'm defrosting a large beef roast we bought at Costco a while back. Crock pot, perhaps, or the oven. Pot roast? It depends on where said hunk of meat will fit best. Each has its advantages. The crock pot does not need to be attended as closely, but the oven will heat the house somewhat. I have lots of time, fortunately, to think about it.

Speaking of food, cherries became extremely expensive (at least to my mind) at Costco. There were no Ranier cherries to be had, and the Bings had gone up to $11.99 for four pounds, which is competitive with supermarket prices, and the cherries are higher quality, but still, that's almost double what they were when we bought them last week. Now I'm glad I bought them when I did. Oh, and I've ordered a new cherry pitter (thanks, _dropdeadred for the tip!).

We broke down and bought Star Trek: Enterprise - all four seasons. We liked it that well, especially the last two seasons. It's nice to have the earlier seasons for reference, and some of the episodes were very good.

I haven't touched my knitting in a couple of days. I need to do at least a little today so the silly thing (the Klingon vest) will finally be done. I bought some sock yarn the other day I am dying to try. It's Regia Stretch Crazy Colour, and it's an ombre: canary yellow, lime green, hot pink and turquoise. Those will be *hot* socks when they're done. :-)

A lot of people seem excited about the new Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, which is coming out next month. Me? I'm not so sure. I really did not care for Order of the Phoenix. I liked Half-Blood Prince only marginally better. Yes, yes, I knew the series was going to get progressively darker as it went along. And it's not my story to tell. Like many fans I imagine I had my own ideas of the characters and situations from the books which were not at all congruent with how the authoress planned to write them. I'm a bit cautious about this last book. I'm not even sure I want to buy it until I find out how it's going to end. Yes, bring on the spoilers! I do hope, though, that all the other HP fans on my list enjoy it. (Come to think of it, I wasn't too thrilled with how Star Wars came out, either. Comes with the territory of being a fan author, I guess.)

That's all for now. Take care.
