My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones in Blacksburg. There is no explanation for why horrors like Virginia tech happen, they just do. It's not fair, life isn't fair sometimes. On the other hand there's no explanation for why good things happen either: good weather, good friends, good times -- but thankfully they happen too, and more often than the bad stuff. By no means can a simple platitude like that erase the hurt, pain and fear we feel -- but it can offer us hope for a brighter tomorrow and, for me, that's what gets me out of bed.
