LJ: if you enjoy forum-types
MySpace: If you are into accessories
Facebook: If you are into college, banal as that may be
Twitter: If you have a Sidekick or the like
Friendster: not sure why it still exists, but I prefer it
LinkedIn: obviously if you are into networking, but also a very Type-A activity
