I Found a children's book at Ocean State Job Lot (love that store, they have oddest things for cheap!) called Cobtown, by husband and wife team Julia and Robert Van Nutt. I quickly realized that this book and my book, Rainetown, have a lot in common. Cobtown is a book series set in a fictional 1800's village.(Raine takes place roughly round the 1890's, though I am purposely mixing eras for my own stylistic gratification hee!) The books are filled with newspaper clippings and images interwoven into a story, each book focusing on one particular chapter in general.
I had to get the book, for it's soo pretty! Seem's like I'm not the only illustrator who likes to make up period towns!!
